Paul Kubes has made numerous seminal contributions in inflammation research including in mechanisms of leukocyte trafficking, sterile immunity, control of bacterial infection and sepsis, cavity macrophages and injury repair, and the roles of neutrophil extracellular traps in infection control. Kubes is internationally recognised for his ground-breaking work in in vivo imaging of the immune system. He served as the Founding Director of the Institute from 2008-2021.
